I would say snow Michael. WV got well over two feet in places, we got as much as thirty two inches in NW NC.

That is late model Corvette buried in the SAND. The photos were from the Jersery/NY shore line.

Oh boy, and if that is sand, there must have been just a little water with it, be careful of buying bargain Corvettes from the area....

                    Re: Sandy

Gas is still in short supply. The latest wrinkle is that at least one of the terminals where they mix the ethanol into the good gas ran out of ethanol and they can't deliver straight good old gas unless our Governor signs an order saying it is ok. The local terminal was expecting an ethanol delivery yesterday, but it didn't appear. This is about halfway out on Long Island. From the air barges can be seen in the ocean lined up for about 40 miles east of NY harbor.

Once again, this is only an inconvenience for most of us and I only post this for information. Many, many people still have no power and therefore no heat and now it's getting harder for them to get gas for their generators. I have not tried to get fuel, because I don't need it. Many others do, to get to work or to stay warm.

If you guys can get your desk top or laptop working this may help you find open gas stations:

As of this morning they did not have a mobile app yet, but the need for that is clear. It may come too late for this incident, but there will be more.

                        Another explanation here:

Thanks for that. Right now of the 23 or so stations in the three closest zip codes to me, one has fuel. That site will help to show when and if things start to ease. We are expectig another storm, a Nor'Easter Wednesday into thursday with 2 inches of rain and 40mph winds. Lovely.

Just got my power back on yesterday, north shore of Long Island. Restored with a lot of help from a line crew from Union, IL (speaking of out of town line crews and union issues). Still a lot of people without power here. Plus another storm coming and a lot of gas lines and closed stations. There's not much you can do about a big storm in an area with a lot of big trees and overhead wires, but it's a full week later and everyone is waiting on longer and longer gas lines. Something is seriously wrong with the fuel distribution system here. We're still really lucky compared to a lot of other people.

Michael. Those are my guys. The company name on their trucks is Intren. I wish you would have gotten a name for the crew leader. The odds are good that I know him and he knows me. Small world.
I am glad they were able to fix you up.

Hi Terry. That was them alright. They worked a few streets away from my house for at least two days. They're still around town, and it looks like they're gonna be around for at least another week. I'll be sure and stop by to say hello in the next few days. I hope they brought warm clothes, it was warm for a few days after the storm, but tonight it's 35 at 11pm. I feel for those without power or gas for their generators. But your guys are working real hard and logging some serious hours. They have theirs hands full here. Everything is a tangled mess, broken trees and poles and downed wires all over the place. We're grateful to have them. Really small world! Mike
