    1967 Vinyl Hardtop Preservation


    Knowing that white is not correct and considering that the car is all original I decided to try and remove the dye. As you can see from the pictures it came out well.

    Rob, What did you use to remove the dye? Looks like it did not destory anything. I would think once any type of solvent was applied it would destroy the top.
    New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.

      I used deluted acetone. As I would get the dye removed I would follow with a thorough cleaning with warm water. The original vinyl underneath looks great and was uneffected.
