foam pad placement

I just got my spare tire board and wanted to make sure that I glue down the 3 foam pads in the right place. Also can I use the same glue as the label; a yellow glue and do I spread it out excessively like they say to do with the label ? I bought the yellow glue at Staples that is used to glue paper, etc. I tried to go to the archives but I don't believe I was wording it correctly to get help. Thank you. Joe

John's 62 is more typical. Apparently they were more careful in 54. Or had more time on the line to do that. Or it was done by a careless worker. Or........

What a big difference! I guess in 54 the corvette was still pretty hot stuff so they took more care with the pads. However I saw an original 53 and the exterior finish looked a little rough. I think in 62 they transfered the exterior guy to putting on the foam pads. LOL. Joe Thanks guys.
