Side Mirror Date Code

My C2 was produced on Feb 28, 1966. The mirror does not have the Bow Tie on it so I suspect the it is not correct/original. However, the date code on the mirror glass is 9-DMI-5. If I understand correctly this would be Sept 1965. What would be an appropriate date code for my car based on its production date?

Jeremy - I agree with Russ. I have a Sept built '67 and it has a "F" (June) AX OSRV mirror. Go with the mirror glass and find a good original
Bow Tie OSRV mirror body. Pete

The "9-DMI-5" date code on your mirror is probably September 1975 or September 1985. I bought a non-bowtie mirror from my local Chev. dealer back in the 1980's and it was dated "10-DMI-4" (October 1974 or October 1984). Apparently Donnelly Mirror, Inc., reused the same date code system each decade.
