C1 Soft Top Latch Fastners

The attached photo shows the type of fasteners that were on my car when I purchased it in 1989. Without doing any research, I purchased the set of hex nuts and external star washers from a vendor. Bob Baird's restoration handbook indicates that these special nut/washers were original (gold colored cad plating), but hex nuts/star washers were also used.

Which is more common ?

My early 59 had the special high hat washers liek those.

My original-paint 59 had hex nuts with star washers (march car)

I bought my hardware from paragon and they are just a flat washer and hex nut
