    Hi,
Anyone have the front cross member dent removal tool they would like to rent or sell? Need to dress up my 64 chassis.
    Thanks, Jeff

If you have access to a welder . Weld washers on the dents and use a pointed pry bar to pull them out.Put pressure on the dent and the tap arround the dent works best.

Thanks Dan, That's a good idea. I did get a tool on loan and may use both the tool and your solutions to make final tweeks
      Cheers, Jeff

Thanks for the pics Mike. That will be my last resort if the tool doesn't do a nice job.

Mike, I used to do somewhat the same, remove the dented section, but hammer it out. There were no pieces available when we did the last one. Would also cut the transmission cross member bottom section out and weld 3/16" flat iron back in. They looked new when we got through

There is a plate plug welded behind the seams on both sides. It was cut from what was left of the replacement part. I forgot to take picture of it before I welding the control arm brackets back on.

Yes...Vette Products make the job a lot easier these days. I also had to replace the #2 cross member. Bubba cut out the center and welded it back in with a torch 40 years ago, probably to change the clutch. It was a real mess, it would have been a big job to save and make it look right. The only thing about the Vette Products stuff is the welds look too good. The factory welds have way more splatter on them.

                  All-----

The cross-member dent removal tool was designed, manufactured and sold by Terry Fiala. He used to frequent this board but I have not seen him around here in a long while.
