    1964 electrical problem

Head light motors and all lights are not working. Fuses are good but there is no power at fuses. The lower portion of the fuse panel has power but the upper portion which impacts the lights does not. All wires seem to be connected correctly. I am guessing it is a ground problem but don't know where to start if it is. Any help would be apreciated

Did you check the connection in the firewall that comes into the fuse box? I think there are two connectors, one could be loose. Also if it has AC there is a large red wire (14 guage I think) that causes a problem often - called "C-60 itis" Good Luck, Don H.

Ted, from what I can tell from looking at the wiring dia. there is red and brown wires coming of the ignition switch that feed the upper or lower part of the fuse block power, depending on how the block is sitting in this diagram. so take a close look at the back of the switch connectors these circuits are likely high amp. circuits and if you look closely you may find that the plastic connector may be melted from heat.I am thinking the red wire is the circuit where you'll find the problem.

Ted, On the firewall there are two conntectors that connect into the fuse box. The one on the left outboard side connects the headlights front parking lights and leadlight motors. Do we rear lights work? If everything else is working, then it must be related to this harness somehow. The two headlight motors have a black ground wire atached to the motor support bracket. The front is grounded to the Raditor support.

I recently purchased the large Classic Car Wiring Diagram, and its the best I have seen so far. Let us know what you find.

12 ga red is generally hot from the battery, 12 ga dark brown is indicating a feed thru the ignition switch as I remember. As others have mentioned the feed into the fuseblook is via the 12 ga red wire in the pair of connections under the steering column in the engine compartment. Good place to start looking for a fried or damaged terminal after nearly 50 years of use...
