    1963 balancer / crankshaft

Does anyone know the correct distance from the timing chain cover to the pulley or balancer on a 300 hp 63 with no power ? I was cleaning cob webs and the damper has some unpainted metal showing. Pulleys line up. Im just worried about it flying off .The enine has about one hour of running time on it and no miles .

    Bill,
Do you have the retaining bolt and washer in the end of the crankshaft?

They were press on in the factory but I would not be comfortable leaving it that way. If they have been removed and re installed I would be concerned about it coming off. I had the crank drilled and put a bolt on my 63 300 HP.
