    1967 hardtop

I'm going to replace the headliner this winter and have a question or two

The headliner is white, but the interior trim pieces look more like ivory colored. See picture below. So should these trim pieces be white or ivory? Sorry about the image size, I think I took about 90 images or so before I start the tear down. If the trim should be white and not off-white, what should the gloss level be?

    Don

The date coding on the plexiglass is

    G (I think)
    PLEXIGLASS
    ACRYLIC
    D AS4

Anyone have their decoder ring handy?

Should be ermine white, same as the exterior color. It is off white, but not as off as that looks.

Should be white. The paint on yours has turned yellow with age. It is it is 40 year old paint.

Any thoughts on the date code, or the gloss level of white? I had always thought it to be original and hate to 'restore' it.

Could I get the original color back with rubbing/polishing compound? I know I would lose the orange peel that is there.

Very doubtful and why would you want to mess with it. The polymers holding the paint film together have oxidized, just as enamel paints around the house yellow with time.

April 67, what is the build date of your car?

All the dates are in April 67. Final assembly date (as determined by VIN) is May 5, 1967.

I would be very surprised if that paint is original. I have never seen ermine white change to that color.
