Does anyone out there have a 1966 Chevelle AIM? If so, I'm interested in the fuel pump part number it shows for the L-78 engine option.

Re: 1966 Chevelle AIM
Keith,
I didn't see your post before I offered all that I have. I know for Corvettes it is sometimes handy to have the AIM for the year before and the year after your car -- thus I offered. I was not suggesting anything about your post.Terry- Top

Re: 1966 Chevelle AIM
I have a '66 "Motors" parts-Labor manual showing 6415961 for '66 chevelle 396. A later(1970) reference shows 3 pumps, 6415961 base (325hp) 6415459 for 350/375hp versions. Also loosely corresponds to the 1968 Chevy parts book, same numbers and applications.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 1966 Chevelle AIM
No need for a scan. Does it specifically state in the L-78 section that the 6440193 was used? Also, is there any change of part number shown in the revision block? In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1966 Chevelle AIM
Might it be 6416459 rather than 6415459?. GM #6416459 was discontinued without supercession in 1977. I can't find any record of 6415459. Do you have any information as to what AC type number corresponds to 6416459? I can't find a cross to AC for it.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

OK, thanks. I was expecting there would be a 6440358 in there somewhere but apparently not.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1966 Chevelle AIM
I had and I have, and the work has just been completed on this one after owning it for over 30 years.

In our younger days my brother and I owned literally dozens of Chevelles (Usually, but not always, serially. This made our parents less than happy for a variety of reasons.) Back when they were just used cars. That is a long story for another place and time, but I grew to love 1967 Chevelles. Over thirty years ago I dragged this one out of the south side of Chicago from the garage of the original owner. Of course it didn't look like this back then. I expect this will be my last one.Terry- Top
