I am thinking about buying a pair of race ramps (2-pc 67" Race Ramps RR-XT-2). I have both a 1972 and 2003 Corvette. Has anyone used these ramps and what are your thoughts, both pros and cons. Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Re: Race Ramps

I have a set of race ramps and use them on both my '71 and '03. I like them for oil changes and for cleaning and inspecting under the car. They are very useful for small repairs where I don't need to take a wheel off. I also like the fact that they are lightweight and easy to move around.

Re: Race Ramps
I have a set of these. I like them. For low ride height cars like a Corvette they are just about the only ramps you can use. I like the fact that they raise the car enough so that one can get comfortably underneath. Being able to detach the ramp section after driving the car onto the ramps is useful in some cases. They are very light and easy to handle.
On the negative side, they are large and bulky, they are somewhat "fragile" and can be damaged if not carefully handled and used, and they're fairly expensive.
Overall, though, I'm very glad I bought them.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
