    Dave,

    Per '67 P&A:
    - #7017218 is in Group 3.322 Cover and Parts Fuel Meter, listed as 58-65 Corvette Sleeve Kit 7014900-7200-7250-7300-7310-7320-7355-7360-7375-80 used with die cast assembly
    - 1585719 is in Group 3.340 Shaft Assembly, Cable Unit, Fuel Injection Distributor listed as 57-63 Pass, Corvette 1st design, cable unit, F.M.drive w/o casing

Am sure ole J.D. or the other FI gurus will have better application information.

      Gary,
      Thanks for the info.
#7017218 Group 3.330 says Spill valve on the box and there is a spill valve in the box.
      # 1585919 is a cable. I'm unsure as to what it fits.

Is the spill valve that you have this style (thumb tack)---

Or one of these two styles?

The thumb tack style was introduced in the 63 units, but retro fits back to the 58-62 units. MOST of the FI folks feel the thumb tack valve is the ONLY one to use and is preferred over the sleeve type. I've used the version in the second picture for MANY, MANY years in my FI unit with ZERO problems, but during the last rebuild (last year) I installed the thumb tack style. Can't tell any difference in performance.

          Tom,
Thanks for the clarification. I neglected to mention that it was the thumb tack type. So it can be used in all 58 up units.????

            Dave,
            That is correct--------------sort of.
Any unit which uses the sleeve style spill valve will accept a thumb tack valve.
The 57 (and some 59) units used a totally different style valve which is unique, and looks like the one below. Those valves were ONLY used in the early sand cast units. Some of the 59 units were hybrid and used the 57 style fuel meter.
The passage in those (sand cast) fuel meters was machined for the valve to move up and down, as opposed to the 58-later fuel meters which were machined for a completely removeable spill valve/sleeve (as shown above).

I forgot to mention the cables.
The early (short) cable was ABOUT 6 1/4in long.
The later cable (6409698) is about 6 7/8in long.
Also, there was an early short cable housing and a later long (about 6 1/4in) housing. I don't have an original short housing to measure.
The long cable will work with either short or long cable housing, and I ALWAYS use the longer cable regardless.

                Tom,
The #1585719 that I have is 6 1/4' long. I believe it is right for my 61 #7320 unit but what other years might it fit.?????

It will fit all years, but I personally prefer to use the longer cable because it goes deeper into the pump shaft.

                    Thank you, Tom.
That is what I thought but I wanted to be sure.

Gary, You covered the subject well. The 7017218 spill valve is the thumb tack style spill valve. That is my favorite one to use on all 58 to 65 FI's with the exception of the 59-E60 7017300 unit.
The drive cable is the shorter style cable. The first of three drive cables.
Few people realize there were three drive cables used from 57 to 65.

Here is a recap of the three cables:
                      1585719 57-62 and also 63 first design 6-21/64"
                      6409370 63 2nd design(wobble pump) 6-15/32" (very rare)
                      6409698 63 3rd design & 64-65 6-27/32"

Tom Parsons, Very nice pics. By the way the first generation spill valve is the 7014900(R) spill valve. If you are a restorer don't even think of using that spill valve unless you want come backs. If you are a car owner and think it's OK then go for it. Old JD
