When did the switch occur from 3/16 to 1/4 inch brake lines? I want to change my brake lines back to steel lines in preparation for National Judging. My serial number is 3124.

No, not true, The drum brake cars (around 300 or so) do have a 1/4" line from the master cylinder to the brass block at the left front corner of the frame.- Top

Has your car been judge Regionally? If so what were the results regarding the brake lines? Some one will correct me if I'm wrong but believe to be judged Nationally one has to go through Regional Judging.- Top

Although that's an excellent idea, it's not a requirement - the only prerequisite for National judging is a Third Flight or higher award, under the same owner, within the three years preceding the National Convention. Probably not a great idea to go to the National without going through Regional judging first, to avoid disappointment.- Top

Thanks Gene,
I did not know that. Do those have a bushing in the MC from 3/16 to 1/4?

J-61 (drum brakes) used a different master cylinder, which had a residual pressure valve in it - the part number for the J-61 master cylinder and the 1/4" front line are shown in the J-61 Section in the Assembly Manual.- Top
