Ray, I think the high beam and low beam headlamps have different mounting tabs , so the high beam won't fit into the low beam. and vice virsa.

      All 4 are different.

      left inner= "D"

      left outer= "A"

      right inner= "B"

      right outer= "C"

These stampings are on a small tab on the ring ("cup"). Earlier model Corvettes used different identifying stampings.

Thank you folks for the Information how ever ------------------ I played with these cups all day Saturday and found them to be totally interchangeanble ( at least to mounting into the headlight doors ) without installing the lenses. Could these "cups" that I have be aftermarket reproductions with universal tabs as the car was hit in the front end many many years ago before I aquired it ???
        Thanks for the info.

By "lenses" do you mean SEALED BEAMS? If so, that's where you're going to find the difference lies. There are "reliefs" on the RINGS into which fit locating "nubs" on the sealed beams.

I do not know if there were ever aftermarket rings available which were "one-size-fits-all". I kind of doubt it but I suppose it's possible. Do your rings have the alpha stampings I described above? You'll have to look closely as the stampings are quite small and sometimes lightly stamped. If your rings are the black-painted variety sometimes the paint kind of "fills in" the stamping.

            Hi Joe
Two of the cups have stamping. One has a letter "D", One has a #1(I ? Can't tell, very faint) The others have nothing.
            Thanks
            Rey
P.S. I will check how my sealed beams fit.

Could the "1" be an "L-1" or "R-1"? . The alpha-numeric stamping protocol was generally used prior to about 1970.

My best recollection, and it has been many years since I changed one of the bulbs, my early 1970 has rather large A B C D. Say maybe 1/2-inch high.
