Restoring my '64 Headlight Motors and I would like to replace the seal on the shaft that exits the case where the thumb wheel connects. This is where the shaft could get mositure into the unit. Does anyone know a vendor supplying these seals or could I use an o-ring. They seem to be a cork seal. Thanks

Re: C2 Headlight Motor Parts Available
Dale,
I did 7 motors a while back and do not remember any seals in that area.
I just used a good synthetic grease that was all temp.
By the way, the brushes can be bought for a fraction of the cost at local motor repair shops, starter, alt, gen, shops.
Got 6 for $3.50.

Re: C2 Headlight Motor Parts Available
Thanks for the reply and information on brushes. It seems like the brushes are good most of the time, the motors are not run a lot just to open/close headlight buckets. I have taken a picture showing the end of the motor housing, the seal and the armature. Again, I am referencing where the shaft come out of the houing where the thumb wheel attaches. There seems to be a small round seal. I am looking into finding an o-ring. Jus want to keep mositure and dirt out of the bushing.
Maybe I should have described it better, the small circle under the housing is the gasket/seal I am referring to. ThanksAttached Files- Top
