Just purchased new jute under dash insulation but a little uncertain on how it fits. Anyone have any pictures? I assume it is to be attached to underdash with adhesive. Any assistance is appreciated. Thx

Re: Installing Under dash insulation for C-2 Corvetter
The brown insulation (replacement is typically gray) is glued to the firewall. The black cardboard backed insulation is held in place with plastic "nails". The tool talked about is nothing more that a screw driver with the blade cut off. To install the "nails" it is best to place them in warm soapy water to soften them, tie a string to them to help pull them thru the hole and carefully install. I've found that trying to push them in with the tool just pokes a hole in the "nail". Have some spares on hand. If you have the dash completely apart and have easy access to the wiper transmission shafts that attach to the wipers thru the cowl, I'd suggest you have the arms welded to the shafts. Originally these were peened and tend to loosen with age causing an annoying "click" as the wipers reverse motion when running.- Top
