    1970 Seatbelts

What is the correct length of the inner buckle belt (console side) for the 1970 model year cars? I'm seeing 7 3/4" shown when I look at the vinyl sleeves in various online catalogs.
    Thanks.

The length of the console side belt is fixed by the length of the plastic sleeve. Are you suggesting there are different length sleeves?

Terry: I don't have either the original belts or the sleeves in my car. What I see in different catalogs is apparently varying lengths of buckle-side belts for the 70 cars. ZIP products shows the vinyl sleeve for the 70's as 7 3/4", yet in another catalog the anchor bolt hole-to-buckle length (reproduction belts) is obviously longer than that. If I'm buying repro belts (at least for the moment) I would at least like them to match original dimensions.
      Thanks for your response.

Maybe someone else can help. I don't have a spare set of belts and would have to take out the seat t get a good measurement.

Elwood I took a ruler and stuffed it down the emergency brake console side of my original owner 1970's original fixed seat belt and it would not go down farther than a 6 inch measurement. This is not a true measurement in taking the seat out like Terry M. mentioned.
