Joe my guess is the case size on the Optima is smaller than the R-59 that came in your car. The original case was about 10.25X6.75

Have no idea as compared to the Optima. Never owned an Optima

          Joe -

Their tray is exactly the same as the OEM tray; however, the OEM tray wasn't designed for an Optima hot-rod battery - it was designed for a Delco R-59 battery. You'll have to modify the clamp arrangement to accommodate the Optima.

I replaced the battery tray from Long Island Corvette Supply, theywere no help at all, and when I put the Optima Red Top battery in and put theretainer in place I found that it will not hold the battery down edge is almost3/4” of an inch away from the bottom tray and will not make contact with thebottom lip of the battery. Is this normal? Should I try to bend the tray mountto make it fit down further? Long Island claims that their battery trays arelike OEM. I don’t get it anyone experience this?

My recollection is that there is an adapter available from Optima which is designed to deal with this very problem.
