    63 antenna

I would like to drop or lower the antenna to mark a car cover opening on my 63 roadster. Antenna I believe is original. Bezel has 2 small openings at 180 degrees. Thoughts on unsrewing without damage. Thanks.

    Re: 63 antenna

I believe I made my own tool bending a piece of metal rod. I placed painters tape over the antenna Benzel.
    Hope this helps .

Along with the top nut there is a bracket that attachs underneath the car, don't forget this as if you start pushing the rod the bracket may break or bend something. Also the muffler may give you a hard time because its in the way. try dropping the rear muffler hanger and see if this helps.

I gues your marking it to cut a hole for the antenna. Put the cover upside down on the car and mark it on the passenger side. Phil 8063

LI has a perfect spanner wrench for the chrome bezel.
By the way a 63 antenna can be changed without removing or doing anything at all with the muffler. Now it's not easy and requires a helper but it can be done. JD
