Sem landau black for '68 forward shift console

Restoring my '68 Interior...Bought a new Forward Shift Console. The black is pretty far off the rest of the interior...Specifically the two side radio access panels. I was told SEM Landau Black would be my best bet. I've prepped it, and put two coats on. Still not dark enough.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would have used SEM Trim Black

      Thanks, Don....

I have some, and I'll lay a coat over what I have.

Agree with DonO, be sure to prep the surface before you spray it. Wipe with alcohol prep pads, and wipe dry with a clean cloth. I would probably fog a light coat of an adhesion promoter prior to painting. The key to painting interior parts is no heavy coats, fog the surface, let it at least tack up, and fog another light coat on, resulting in a light build, not heavy like you would do metal parts.

Hi Bob. What changed since your earlier thread on this?

Based on my experience, SEM makes a great product.

              Hi Don,

Nothing has changed. On the previous, I was painting metal parts only. Got this part and the black was way off.
