That's correct - A.O. Smith built the body, painted it, and trimmed it just enough to keep water out of it during rail shipping to St. Louis - here's an article I wrote that covers the A.O. Smith operation in Ionia:

A.O. Smith installed the trim tag after paint, in their Trim Shop, just as St. Louis did.
