    Tight Casting Date

I am considering a purchase of correct 942 block for 66. The casting date is 5 days before the assembly date. Will this pass being so close? I know a date further out would be the norm but the block is standard bore and in very good shape.

    Walter -

Which assembly date - for the engine, or for the car?

        Walter -

What's the block casting date AND the engine assembly date stamped on the front pad, and the car assembly date?

            Walter -

That casting to car assembly time span isn't impossible, but it's pretty tight for a big-block; most big-block castings sat longer than that before being machined/assembled.
