Re: C1 Problem Mounting Engine Properly

Here is a photo of my 61 original front body mount.

i have seen bodies lowered by eliminating body cushions and on mid years by eliminating the cushions on 64 and up body/frames.
    Makes a huge difference

      Joe,
Having a hard time interpreting this picture. Where in the front of the body is it located? Looks like a long bone shaped object taped to something? Are you suggesting that I may have body cushions missing? Thanks.

This is the left side original body mount taken from under the car looking forward. Look under car, below and forward of the door and see the horizontal body mount.
This is the mount that is near the dimmer switch.

Intent for you to compare your mount to an original mount to determine if any significant difference. Way back when bodies were switched not a lot of attention was paid to shims and cushions.

            The bolt cutters are scarey....
Did the car have a fire in it?

very original 60 single 4B, burned to a crisp.

Bolt cutters used by heathen to unceremoniously remove whatever lines were in the way....ah the good old days!
