Getting down to the minutiae but this is what it's allabout, the fun of discovery. I think the old and now the new JM (as there wasno change) is wrong about the AM/FM Stereo light being script in 68 and block in 69. There may be differentones out there but their usage as to timing may not be so empirically correct.I have examples of the block stereo lettering in each of, a 68 and a 69. Eventheir serial #'s are sequenced for the correct placement in the productionprocess (see enclosed pictures). Per Delco Service Manuals and other actualexamples they used the same model #7303211 for 68 &69, as for internalworks. Yes, Yes, they had different knobs. I also contacted some rebuilders andquarried them about the lettering and they doubted the infallibility of the JMstatement, from their own experiences. Would anyone know where the logic in theJM for this call originated? There wereonly a few AM/FM radios with stereos, so some aberrations were surely possiblein any regard. The JM ref is on page 17, new copy.
