    68 TI Trouble

I've rebuilt my 68 L71, including the TI system (which was working when I began the restoration). The TI Distributor is the original but was completely rebuilt / restored. I've replaced all wiring with Lectric harneses and cables. I don't seem to be getting a spark at all. I've even swapped out the Amp Board and the Coil still no luck. The Starter and Solenoid were rebuilt also. The Battery is new, the Volts do drop to about 9.6 / 9.7 on crank at the Distributor connection from the starter.
I've followed the TI Trouble Shooting guide with no luck. Any other suggestions?
    thanks,
    Steve

Check and make sure you have a good ground at the amplifier to the radiator support. I would use a jumper to a known good ground at this point to make sure. Always remember a Corvette is a ground hog.

Thanks Paul, "ground hog" Ha hadn't heard that one. I've definately got a good ground at the Amp Box and even used a jumper just to be sure as part of the trouble shooting I've done. Thanks Again, Steve

Have you used Dave Fiedler troubleshooting guide he has it setup better the the shop manual.

Corvette amplifier and distrubutor library and diagrams. Transistoriezed and transistor ignition amplifier, and distributor system.

yes, Dave rebuilt my TI Distributor and has been helpful but none of his suggestions have resolved my problem...

You said you replace all the wire harnesses I know you have to splice in the TI extension into the new harness. If you did not make the proper connections that could be your problem. I am sure you have checked this but just making sure.

At this point I would restart your troubleshooting and start at the basic check like connection and then a step by step continuity, voltage etc. you may have overlooked something along the path. I know this is not a big help but it is good to restart at the beginning and work slowly. When I worked in aviation the one item I always looked at was what ever was wrong it was telling me the problem I just had to understand what it was saying. Reread how the system functions then restart the troubleshooting.

Check for reversed wires coming from the PU coil & magnet-won't start & if it does, then it runs poorly.

Thanks Ken, I think we have checked that but will double check again.

You have said you have no spark during your testing do you have any deflection from the pickup coil?
What is your voltage ignition on at the coil + terminal to ground?
When checking continuity at the ground is it infinity or is there some resistance?
