63 Temperature sender switch painted????

I need some help. I'm painting the engine in my 63 327/300 and not sure if the Temperature Sender Switch was painted or installed after paint. No info was found in the Tech/Judging Guide. Any help?

never seen one painted. definitely not on the solid lifter 63's. mike

Billy -

The temp senders were installed at the engine plant, and masked with a cardboad tube on engines with cast iron intake manifolds.
