63-67 AC heater box gaskets and seals

I am restoring a 67 AC inside box. to clean and replace all the foam seals. when i opened it up all the foam was dust and fell apart on me. I got the flapper doors figured out. but I also have a piece I am not sure about. the kit I got from LIC. its number 18 and calls it for inside heater box.

and does it go here



to the location where the nut driver is pointed.

it looks like it would go there. but not sure

DR REBUILD has an excellent schematic diagram of the mid-year AC heater box on page 51 of his last catalog. And yes, it shows that the piece in question goes where you thought.

Check his catalog (or now perhaps his website) for the schematic.

Thanks I thought I was right but since you only get one seal for each spot I did not want to mess it up. I will look up Dr rebuilds website
