Heater lamp is two wires one black one gray.

Ralph is right the only bulbs in consol are the heater and may be the cigarette lighter. There might be others with acessories that I do not have in my car.

The console cluster includes the console as well as the gauge cluster. The only lights I believe in the console are the temperate control and cigarette lighter.

Later C3's had a light for the Automatic shift indicator. Could it be an extra wire intended for a later year C3 ?

Latest and greatest answer I got in contact with Greg at Lectric Limited Inc. he had the answer immediately. The "black wire with the 1895 bulb holder is for the Wiper Warning Light". The light may be used on some 68's. If not used it is just taped over so as to not short out. Why its black is unknown but their wiring harness is the same as the origional wiring harness.

Beat me to it. I had the same issue with my '68. Used the LL harness and had an extra bulb near the gauge cluster. I figured it was the wiper override light which was not installed on my 68.

My 68 has the wiper override light and is a June built car. Howard and Mike what month were your cars built???

According to the birthday calculator my car was built late December, 1967.

My car was built on Feb 26/27 1968 it has the wiper warning light. I went and looked at the insturment cluster, on the back where the light goes is a stamp above the hole marked BLACK.
