Am I missing a 68 part? I have a mounting hole but nothing attached

The attached picture shows what looks like a small mounting hole on the firewall to the left of the bell housing area. My camera was near the starter lookin back and up. I was working on the heater and noticed the threaded hole. It is an A/C car.

Russ, I am trying not to be a wise a$$, and you have no idea how hard that is, but last time I checked for Corvettes the starter is on the right hand (passenger) side of the car. When referring to left or right it is traditional (and downright confusing) to use the location as if one were sitting in the car -- not looking at it, since the latter can change as one walks around the car. This is one of the reasons you will not (I hope) find the terms left hand or right hand in the early C3 TIM&JGs. We tried our best to refer to passenger and driver side of the car to make a book that is already very confusing just a little less so.

No worries. The mounting hole is on the right side on the fire wall. To help understand the photo i used the term left. Any suggestions on the hole? It doesnt seem to match anything on the inside.

Russ a assembly manual will be one of the best tools you can purchase to re-assemble your corvette. Look in the back pages of the Driveline, or on this site at the NCRS Store. www.paragoncorvette.com has them also.
