C1 61-62 wiper motor dates?

Hello everyone,

Hoping to get some clarification and a quick understanding as to dates on 61-62 wiper motors. I believe i have seen some with and without? Any information here very appreciated....

Not sure, but I believe you're right about some do and some didn't. When Tom Maxwell did mine recently, he did date stamp it - about 1 month priot to the car's build date.

I've seen VERY few original 62's with them, and I've looked at 1000's of 62's since I began in 1974. I've seen early 62's with 266 wiper motors with small paper tags with 5044479 on the tags placed over the 266 more often than I've seen dated 62 wiper motors. As original as your car is, if it doesn't have one, don't add it!

I may be wrong but it seems the 60's tend to have dates more regularly, was just wondering if there was rhyme or reason...

No adding it here, just educating....look for a PM as I also wanted to followup with regard to our conversations in Kissimmee

Where is the date stamp, if any? I don't want to take mine off to check. It's never been off the car.

That's a 266 with the evidence of the paper 479 tag in the area on top of the stamped numbers.
