I think your time frame is probably off by at least two weeks...in general, all/most proposals/reports etc. usually have to be submitted to a board member or the president/secretary at least two weeks prior to the meeting to be put on the agenda...I'm basing this on my 11 yrs as a board member and the past 5 yrs as editor attending board meetings...

It might be a good idea to ask John Waggoner what he thinks it will take to get this project off the ground. He is the type of guy that gets things done. I remember years ago when many members wanted a dealer/zone section here and all the naysayers said it couldn't be done but John got it done... by himself. It wouldn't hurt to have his input on this. I'm not an IT person but I don't see what the big deal is about this addition that will benefit everyone and improve this Board greatly. Just my two cents.

              Also
To have an effective proposal, we need accurate data.

We have bandied about a lot of different numbers, but we need to get contact points for THIS forum and the NCRS in general that can provide hard data.

How many folks join the NCRS via the online portal? How much e-commerce comes from the Online store... How many members use ANY of the NCRS services...not just the forum....

We need good data to make a good proposal.

FWIW I was told by a BOD member it will be an agenda item at the March meeting. I reminded him that if he does not follow up, I still have a few tools that were used on the farm, a scalpel and a large banding tool (Google Eze Model T-1 for details)

Looks like something good old Doc # 14 probably used in his practice...

                              Tracy,

If you take a look at the recent threads concerning this issue I think you'll find most of the info that's needed to put a proposal together. A lot of members participated and there were a lot of ideas (good and bad) bounced around. I'm curious, how often does the BOD meet? I think you'll be pushing it to try to get a proposal together for the next board meeting. Since we haven't had a "For Sale" section since the TDB's creation, maybe it would be a good idea to wait and get ALL of the issues resolved/objections answered before presenting to the board.
