Re: 67 Convertible windshield trim install help needed
Scott, Last summer I installed a new windshield and gasket in my 63 I did use some silcone spray on the windshield install and lubed the lower w/strip for the install of the moulding on the bottom. and had no issues. I will say that its a cold time of the year and the rubber tends to get hard, it would make it easier if temp. is above 70 degrees.
Another thing that could be an issue is the sealant used on the bottom of the weatherstrip it to tends to be a little thicker when cold and will not make life easier when installing the trim. if you have a portiable quartz light and stand this would help heat up the areas.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Thank you for the tips Edward, yes that 3M bedding compound does get harder in the cold. It ran all over the place at first since the tubes were warm from being in the house. Now its like cold tar.- Top
