    That is not the part I am talking about. The one you have shown pictures of mounts to the rear of the tachometer housing and is a vacuum/electical solenoid safety switch. The one I require is under the front cowl/firewall area, and is mechanically activated by the right wiper arm. If you Google GM part number 5638487, you will see the correct switch. Dr Rebuild and Wilcox both have videos on how to correctly test one of these online.
    I am pretty sure this is the switch.

        Bill, thank you, finally someone that knows what I am talking about! This looks like a GM original part with the black button on the top. Is this one new and for sale?

            This is brand new and in the GM box. However, it is not for sale.

                So close but yet so far! Anyone else out there that may have one of these new in the box? I promise it will go to a good car.
