    Entry Level Vette?

Automotive News reported this A. M. there is an entry level Vette on the drawing board. Base car without all the useless bells and whistles your are forced to take in the present car. Target price would be under $50k. According to them it could be released in late 2015. Stay tuned.

How times have changed. I paid $1,500.00 for my first used 61 Vette and $50,000.00 for my first house.

My first Corvette was a brand new '76 I paid $8,500. Paid $10,000 in 1978 for my first house. You can see where my priorities were.

A 50K price point is still too high for a base model. If they could build one for 39K, I belieive that they would sell as many as they could build.

If Chevrolet sold Vettes at $39,000 Who would pay $40,000 for a SS Camaro ? They can't make them too inexpensive.

You can get NEW Base C6 coupes for $39K now!

To me they are a great value. Lotsa bang for the buck.

                    Agree.
You can already buy them at this price despite the window sticker number. Yet, they're not selling as many as they can build and haven't since 2008.

It could be $40 grand and it is still to tough for my fat a#% to get in and out. The mid year coupes are still the most suited to the retirement baby boomers. Wide seats and not sitting down in a hole.

WOW! we are going to get a base model with a detuned motor, dog dish hubcaps, no PW,PS, or PB.

I agree. The "base entry" cars I love are the non A/C, crank windows, AM-FM radio, manual transmission ones. The true "die hard" sports cars.
