Note: LIC has responded that his clip P/N 22-44 "is the correct blue color" ????

It was not painted engine orange. My recollection is that it was a natural steel color. However, it was sort of like the heat-induced coloration seen on flat spring steel pieces. In other words, kind of a "bluish-blackish" color. That may be what LICS is referring to.

Joe, I was not aware the clip was in place at the time of the orange engine paint and thus received a certain amount of orange paint but had no idea what the finish was prior to paint which I assume may still be visible to small degree after the paint process?
