Re: Which Repro. Knockoffs
Doug,
Having used true knockoffs on my '66 for a few years and having to hammer them on and hammer them off and having little success using the special metal/poly tool that captures the spinner and that is supposed to make the on/off process easier, I would never again use true knockoffs. I always worried they would come loose, which given how hard it was to get them off, was probably a needless worry. In any case, once the bolt-on knockoffs came onto the market I told myself if I ever had an extra $2K to spend, I would definitely get those. Any repro is not going to get full judging points, so the choice of true knockoff vs. bolt-on knockoff from a judging perspective shouldn't be the deciding factor.

Re: Which Repro. Knockoffs
I also bought a set of bolt ons for my 67 through Dick at Virginia Vettes. They are excellent quality and Dick shipped them so fast. They are the Gen4 style. They look very close to originals Must better than others I have seen.1967 Corvette L71 Coupe- Top

Re: Which Repro. Knockoffs
Having a right front KO fall off of a 65 coupe back in 1981 I would vote for the bolt on style, and yes it was on the correct side of the car and also after pounding the snot out of it with my custom made 10 pound lead hammer back in the day!JR- Top
