Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
This is interesting to me as well (1966 300HP Non-AC). Attached is a copy of the same routing page from the 1966 AIM. It clearly shows the 5/8 hose routing from the lower heater core outlet, up and over the "T" connector, then BELOW the 3/4 hose, and finally back up to the intake manifold nipple.
Does this match the 1967 AIM?
I had my 66 routed according the the AIM but it is not a very clean installation. After receiving deductions twice for improper routing, I changed to the much cleaner configuration as shown in Tim's pictures above. I got a deduction for that routing too!
No big deal but I would like to understand the correct routing!

Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
Mike,
I never noticed about the 5/8 hose routing back below the 3/4 hose then turns up as it enters the intake manifold in the 67 AIM. I will change my 67 and see how it looks.- Top

Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
Interesting that the length of each hose is show. I always wanted to know the exact length of the short hose at the "T" fitting too but didn't think to measure it decades ago when some cars still had their original hose.
The 1500 mile green/saddle leather 65 FI conv still has it's original hose. Would be good to measure it next time he brings that car out to some event.- Top

Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
Mike, Now I am second guessing myself, for 66-67, does the 5/8" hose route behind and over the 3/4" hose when it exits the heater core like my first pic. In my 67 AIM there are no hose length measurements.- Top

Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
The 66 AIM drawing does make it look as though the 5/8" hose from the heater stays inboard of the 3/4" hose until it passes over the "T" fitting, then goes outboard but I don't think that is the way it was supposed to be. If it did, the 5/8" hose would be very close to the exhaust manifold and that's one of the reasons why it was routed outboard to begin with.
View B on the 66 AIM sheet seems to clearly show the 5/8" hose running outboard of the 3/4" hose before running over the "T" fitting.
I wonder if there are a few good pic's of 66-67 engines in the Noland Adams book?- Top

Re: 1967 Heater Hose Routing
Mike,
In the Noland Adams book on page 392 (top photo) there is a picture showing a 1967 engine compartment. The heater hose is visable and the 5/8" hose looks like it comes from under the larger 3/4" hose at the intake junction. At the heater core, the 5/8" hose looks like it is routed outboard and over the T fitting.
I wish we had a original car to show the routing at the intake as this car looks like it was restored. Also, page 359 shows a 66 but the hose routing at the intake is not clear to me as the pics look like the small hose is on top.- Top
