I am wanting to make a starter switch so I can crank my engine for the first time before I set the body back on the chassis. Can anyone give me instructions on how to do so?

If all you want to do is spin the starter, connect a momentary contact switch between the large starter solenoid terminal and the small, inboard (closest to the block) solenoid terminal. Activating the switch will activate the starter.

Justin....Before starting engine you should pump up the oil pressure....our engine guy had a special shaft for the distributor hole that fit his air ratchet gun
I've seen people do it with a long screw driver...make sure you have a plug in the hole for the oil pressure line.- Top

Justin, As Jim says thats the easiest way, I just use a good old fashion manuel black push button. most auto parts store sell them. add a couple of wires with alligator style clips.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
