    Paul,
The replacement gear that I've seen looks to be cast, it may be machined but is still "sloppy" when assembled. You will not be pleased with performance right out of the box. I have modified the gear spacing to make the gear mesh interfere rather than have clearance. I slot out the holes in the steel plate so I can change the center distance between worm and gear. I drill and tap for #10-24 screw where the two peen were. Placing shim stock in the slotted holes with screws installed when tightened keep the spacing where ya set it. Lube with wheel bearing grease.

I assume you want to pass a PV. To do so you will need to make the slop in the crank prior to window movement much less than GM ever made them. Just the way it is.........

My friend just last week installed a pair in 67 coupe. The wing window opperates ok but a lot of pre movement to crank. Another thing the repro window crank did not want to stay on. Solution was drill and tap for a set screw on the hub. It was tight to install with allen wrench but got it done. Stays on now.

            Paul,
i used the rebuild kit from America's Finest: www.corvetteusa.com/vent.html
            Worked great, no looseness.

No pictures now. But I plan on doing a tech sminar for our chapter and this is one of the things I'll consider. We usually follow it up in our news letter. So check in later this year http://www.wnyncrs.org/WNY_NCRS/Welcome.html

Can't say for sure but I suspect the vent window transmissions were used in other GM cars as well.

I got a lot of parts for my 63 from an Impala in a wrecking yard. Outside mirror, dash knobs, horns, outside door handles, etc. Probably should have looked into the vent window parts. Speaking of window stuff, you can take the correct date coded passenger car glass and get it cut to shape to replace your Corvette side windows.

BTW, correct jack hold down spring and finger loop were found in a Corvair.
