ok newbie question here but since everyone i call says "good question i dont know... but i am not asking" here goes. I am headed to KY for regional but just heard they are calling for rain thursday and friday. While i am no prude and the car can get wet. the spring storms rolling through are strong and would hate to see hail or the wet/dirt of judges in/under interior/engine etc in the rain. this is an outdoor event. does the show go on in the rain? do you load into trailer at night?

All the humor aside for a brief time-- and as you can see there is plenty of that -- we judge the cars rain or shine -- and hail too. Just ask those of us who were in Bowling Green at the last Regional held there. I don't have the Judging Reference Manual in front of me, but I believe there is an exception to the not moving cars from the judging field for dangerous weather, but that is the call of the Judging Chair. Of course having said that I will tell you the last time I commented on removing cars from the Judging Field I got in a heap of trouble with the boss.
Do keep in mind -- the judges will be exposed to the same weather conditions as you and your car will be. They are all wosses, so you don't need to worry about your car getting wet. Judges melt.Terry- Top

Besides he wants to see some goof ball Corvette floor protector that was stolen from a Corvette in transit. How can one criticize anyone who is that passionate about a piece of dimpled paper.Terry- Top

Re: Judging in the rain @ bowling green
We judged in trailers and under a tent once for a Chapter Meet when it was raining a torrential downpour. That was quite the event...

Not funny, judges are the most considerate when looking at another's car. Remember a lot of members that read this web site are not familiar with NCRS judging. We don't want to "scare them away".- Top

My memory is pretty bad but, didn't we judge in trailers at a regional somewhere, not too many years ago? Maybe it was just a fall-back plan.Kramden- Top

Re: Judging in the rain @ bowling green
I was there in 2005 when we had the hail storm on Thursday. It was golf ball size hail for almost 20 minutes. All cars were judged with damage and point deduction for the damage. Any car that left the judging field would be banned for one year. Nobody left the judging field. Bowling Green weather for Thursday is rain and possible hail. Sunny on Friday and Saturday. See you there- Top
