WOW! Now you got me examining this sheet closer, AND it appears that "02Y89AA" is scribbled (last - under all above typewritten text) on the "Chevrolet Order Copy"!

Now that I'm still confused can you just expand on this a little further?

That's an A.O. Smith internal accounting code they used as part of invoicing Chevrolet for the body; they had a long list of those "02YXXXX" codes that were assigned to different combinations of body styles and options. Those codes only appeared on the tank sticker, not on the window sticker.

Hard to argue. But it is not listed in options. I do not believe it was an extra charge either. Just like checking off what color you wanted the paint. Here are a couple of pictures

I did look at the trim tag on my 67' and it lists it as "STD" (and the trim is Black)!

Have a friend that had a 67 coupe that only had 1 option, U69 AM/FM radio. The car was reasently distroyed in a fire.

I looked at a 1968 Conv. that was for sale with NO options. 3 speed green/black radio delete. Told him he had a rare Corvette but would have a hard time finding someone who liked it. I think it was a original bait & switch dealer order.

Yes, mine appears to be an A.O. Smith built body based on:

(1) Trime tage says "A - 0163" (i.e., Letter "A" designation for A.O. Smith Body, etc.)
(2) Order had standard exhaust
(3) Inner door panels have larger-headed rivets (i.e., compared to St. Louis builds, etc.)
(4) Order had standard engine (i.e., no big block hood to contend with, etc.)
