    67 Dash Harness Replacement

    Hi Guy's
I'm hoping someone will have a simple solution to this problem. I'm replacing the dash harness on my 67 coupe with a M&H unit. I cannot get the metal lamp holders to fit into the holes in the back of the instrument cluster. It seems that they are very close to seating but I just can't apply enough force to get them in.
Is there a trick in getting them to fit?

    Thanks
    Matt

You might try wiping the hole edges and holder "fingers" with a lubricant like WD40.... just enough to have a slight film.

Thanks for the reply Stephen. Unfortunately the holders don't have fingers, they are solid with rounded edges where they fit through the hole. I'll give the lubricant a go but I think it will come down to a method of levering the holders into place. I was hoping that someone had already figured it out.

I just put all M&H harness' in my 65. I didn't have any issues with the bulb holders but they should be tight. Start them at an angle and push them in as you straighten them up.

You might also want to rock them back a forth while doing this.

No problems with the Lectric Unlimited harness (with resect to your problem). In fact I would consider mine too loose.
