68 Only Grill, any options ?

    Does anyone have a picture of a known original 68 center grille?

        More photo's. The center is original restored paint the left and right are repainted 69's.

            The '68 center grill is the same as the '69. As you can see in the picture it is made in the '68 style with the horizontal slats cantilevered out from the vertical end. They are available in reproduction.

                Thank you for the pictures.

                The reason for my request for photos is this: the 68 AIM indicates part number 3915849 for the center grille, whereas the 69 AIM indicates part number 3966555, with a revision date of 11-13-68.

                Therefore, the center grille changed relatively early on in 69 production. Based on the your photos, I suspect the change was an improvement in robustness, as was done with the outboard grilles. Armed with this information, I can determine what is on my car.
