Does anyone have any knowledge that a C1 could be ordered with a White hardtop when the body is a different color, like Red, Blue, Silver etc. with a White insert?

Re: C1 White Hardtop
The hardtop was body color and coves were beige or silver. The non-body color hardtops and white '56-'57 coves were non-production. In the '60's-'70's I personally saw a number of these modifications come out of GM and independent body shops, including white, black, and red coves and red cars with white hardtop. Those mods sure were popular, though.- Top

Re: C1 White Hardtop
Jerry, all Corvettes with hardtops were produced with the hardtop the body color, with of course the exception of C3 vinyl tops. White coves were available with some '58-'61 colors but again the hardtop was always body color. I had a neighbor who ordered a coupe in the '70's, white L-48 with auto and saddle leather. He had saddle vinyl installed on the top, including flying butresses! Had a friend in the AF who had a silver '61 and painted cove black and knew a guy in the '60's who repaired a black '60 wreck and painted cove white. Alot of customization then. Steve Should have mentioned a long time ago talked to ZAD at Meadowbrook and got on topic of colors and fact that we see early Corvettes on street with contrasting color hardtops, and the fake spray on "vinyl". When asked why contrasting color top was not offered the reply with a grin was "Because it make car look like sheeet." Also asked why no black interiors first few years.- Top
