On my 1971 the rear door jam switches were falling out and the metal brackets where were just hanging the rivets broke. I drilled the rivets out of the door. Is there a way to remove those metal brackets and reinstall them? Or how can I drill the holes out of the metal brackets and reinstall them on the car.

Re: Door Switches
the metal plate rivets to the fender, the only way I think you can replace or re rivet the metal backing plate is to de bond the lower fender, re rivet then re bond the lower fender. If you can re use what's there, you could try using pop rivets without having to de bond the lower fender?- Top

Re: Door Switches
Les, FWIW, you might want to try Willcox. I think I read on the "other forum" that they recently introduced A repro bracket that will mount without any body work. Looks right from jamb when complete. If it turns out that they do not have them, email or PM me and I'll share a write up I did a couple years ago about how I fixed mine.Don Lowe
