Yea Right. Likely excuse from a paint company.

My paint on my 69 is lacquer from 1987. The car was painted and never reassembled and sat in a garage until 2011 when I bought it. After about 6 months of driving it, I had about 15 small barely visibly bubbles up near the lock cylinder on my passenger door. They have not multiplied or gotten any larger, but they have not disappeared. Drives me nuts.

Super glue is not your best choice of glues if you go that route.

You should know that cyano-acrylates are sensitive to moisture, and fail immediately, and the solvent itself may cause you other issues.

You mean I shouldnt super glue my helmut to a steel beam and suspend myself near a waterfall?

Wayne, only depends on how high you are off solid ground.

Look for the silver lining to this cloud - now that the car is no longer "perfect" you can drive it as intended and without worry.

Excellent advice......... the same bubble (size of quarter) on my 65 front right corner, but nobody (or at least very few) looks at bubble at the cruise in's. They are too busy looking at the whole car. I painted it in lacquer 27 years ago. I used to show it NCRS, but not any more. Yes, I rack up the miles on it. And have been for well over twenty years now. I just figure it's not worth fixing.

I agree, it is starting to bother me less everyday I get her out and blast it on the highway. I have spent the last few years correcting items from the last judging, restoring the chassis and frame, and putting the correct part number and date code parts on her. Not sure I will very put her into judging again, the paint had some deducts as "over-restored" last time out, maybe it won't now?
