    65 Turn signal issues

Need some expert input regarding turn signal issues with my 65 coupe. First, the left turn signals flash at a different rate then the right turn signals; right being slower. This occurs with any turn signal flasher. How do I correct this and which/what rate is correct? Secondly, when engaging the turn signal arm up (right turn) the arm must be pressed HARD to get the flashers to start. If you press it normally it engages the correct position but does not flash. The down (left) engagament works flawlessly. How do I fix this? Thanks for any and all replies. Phil

On the speed problem, it's the bulbs. Go to the owners manual, look up the bulb number, I think for a 65 it's 1157. Then see if that is what you have installed. The bulbs and the flashers work together.

On the engagement it sounds line the mechanism inside the column is loose or cracked.

I agree with the above post,re-check turn signal lamp wattages, they must be in spec to flash at proper rate of speed.secondly the turn switch inside the steer wheel prob. needs to be replaced.not too difficult ..
