A/C compressor number for 1963 coupe

I have a 63 coupe with compressor numbers as follows Frigidaire 44NC4224. Model 6550133. Does this sound correct. I have orderd books to identify this but have not received them yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Jeff, According to the 6th edition judging manual you have the right Model # compressor. Manual lists the model # but not the Frigidaire #. John

Check the back plate #'s also that are cast into the plate and see what Mo & year.

The numbers on the back plate are 6555302 with what appears to be a date of A303. Also can these units be rebuilt?

Looks like Jan, 30 1963.

Yes they can be rebuilt but most only get a reseal because the rings are not sold or made any more. also the tru vette compressor (C2) had dish pistons.
