54 windshield sealing

Two questions........Getting ready to set the windshield, the original looks like it had some dum-dum in there. What do you folke use to seal the windshield to the body channel? Also, Should I lubricate the Tach cable?

center the seal on the windshield and tape it to the glass - about every 12" or so
as you assemble the windshield the seal will want to come off the glass
once you build the frame and install it you can use a razor blade and trim the tape....

You can use some dum dum around the holes in the body to prevent leaks....but they all leak....

You should lube the cable with cable lube available from GM. Don't use regular grease as it hardens with age and can melt at temperature and climb the cable into the cockpit.
