Soft top install question for my 1960

I'm installing a new top on my 1960. I have the Al Knoch video and have helped install a top. The Knoch video is pretty good about explaining things, but I have one simple question. The video shows them stapling the pad at the front, and then the back, they explain where the pad should be aligned in the back, but not in the front.

My question is at the front bow, where should the binding edge of the pad be positioned related to the horizontal frame (the piece above the side window)? Can someone with a correctly installed top on a 56-62 look under the front edge of your top and see where the pad is positioned?

I have a call into Al Knoch but he has not returned my call yet.

I have attached two pictures, the first has the pad binding edge down even with the frame, the second has it just above at the top edge of the frame.

    Thanks,

    Don

If you don't get an answer here try calling Coffmans Corvettes, 419-522-2246, ask for Clint, among other things they restore soft top frames. I have found he is always willing to help solve a problem.

I may do that. The frame was restored by Coffman. I think I can figure out where it should line up, but just trying to confirm.

      Thanks,
